Pumpkin Time!

What a great time of year! It is even better with a crazy 15 month old and a great family. Yesterday we got the chance to go pumpkin picking with Paps, Di Di, and G... Q had a blast! If anyone is interested in a good place to take the kids during this time of year it is definitely pumpkin picking at Washington Farms. They had a whole bunch of things to do there, but we were close to nap time so we only got to partake in a few. Even Britton said that he is very excited to go back again next year when Q can enjoy the attractoins better. We did get to experience our first pig race, what a hoot! Here are the pigs before they are released from their cage and then when they are in full "sprint". I only wish they would have done more than a one lap race because it was so funny!
After the pig races we went on to pumpkin picking. Q was so excited when she saw how many "punke" (pumpkins) there were. G did find his new calling as a pumpkin picker; he found all of the good ones for us.

Q worked so hard to pick up this pumpkin; she was so proud of herself!
We were going to take her on a hay ride and "cow train" ride after the picking experience, but who knew that riding in a wheelbarrow full of pumpkins woud be just as much fun!

When we made it back to the car she didn't want to give up her little pumpkin Di Di and Paps got her! Daddy got to practice his carving skills later in the afternoon. Can you tell what he made?

Nashville

What a crazy weekend! We had the opportunity to go to Nashville this past weekend to spend time with BL's sister, husband, and nephew. We also got the chance to go to the UGA/Vandy game. This was great because Rob is a Vandy grad and Kristen is a UGA grad... poor Rob had to sit in the UGA section wearing his black and gold proudly. Sadly to say that except for the last 3 seconds he had much more to cheer for than we did. How about Brandon Coutu representing my old alma matter, Collins Hill High School Eagles! Here's Rob and Kristen with the Vanderbilt Commodore. What exactly is a Commodore? I'm still not real sure. Quinn loved playing with Hudson; they had a blast together. Who would have known that a box made into a play house could be so much fun! She has also been working on jumping, as you can see she has the motion down, but just can't seem to get off the ground. Disclaimer: Excuse the poor camera skills and the loud parents, but you will get the idea from this video.

BL also got the chance to practice his barbering skills... on his dad! We were joking about his long hair and B told him he would buzz it for him. Well here is the proof, a before, during, and ending shot! Finally, it is not a Lockhart trip if something does not go wrong... after about five hours in traffic on the way up we discovered that Q gets car sick... enough said! Yeah, we had to pull over on the side of the road to clean up the mess. While I was holding Q, covered in puke mind you, the cops pulled up to see if we were a part of the accident about 500 yards ahead of us. Needless to say, once they say Quinn they quickly got out of there and moved on up the road. There's nothing like changing your kid on the side of the interstate and having to put her back in her nasty car seat for the duration of the ride, yummy. Oh, don't fret... about 2 1/2 hours into our return trip the same thing happened (don't worry we don't have pictures of this)!

Halloween

I know that it is still a few weeks until Halloween, but I just had to show you all Q's costume. She just might be the cutest duck ever. Every time we open her closet she sees her outfit and yells "DUCKY" and quacks! That's my girl. If she can only grow about another inch before then and she will not trip over the feet when she walks. Check it out!
