Payter's 1st Birthday
We had Pay's first birthday party this weekend. Due to the rain we had to change our plans and had everyone at our house for the festivities. Thanks to B he went out and found some fun games for the kids to play. When you add games, friends, family and the yummy food we had I believe the party was a success. Check out the birthday girl!
We had a pinata that even Walker got to take a whack at it.
Pin the tail on the donkey was another hit!

Q was dying to help her sister open her gifts, but Pay did a pretty good job all by herself.
Checking out a gift...I'm not sure which one is more excited?
Here she is realizing that she was the center of attention. She is doing her touchdown pose. Can you tell that she is a big ham!
"Eating" birthday cake. She loves sweets and pretty soon the cake covered her body.
Happy Birthday Pater. You know how to make us smile.

Q's 1st Dentist Appointment
So we know this great pediatric dentist (I didn't know that was even a specialty until I met her) and today was Q's first official visit to the dentist. It was just as I expected...scared at first and then slowly warming up. I know it would have been much harder if Q did not know Mrs. Michelle and for that I am so thankful. As an adult I would love to go to her, movies on the ceiling, balloons, fingernail painting, and really sweet people who work there - I wonder if my insurance will go for it!
In the beginning...
Don't let this picture fool you, she never actually sat in the chair by herself. Right after I snapped the shot she grabbed on to me and sat on my lap for the rest of the time.
Getting her nails painted as a reward for a job well done, and showing off those pearly whites!
Thanks Mrs. Michelle (or Dr. Harmon - your work name :)) you had a little girl pretending to be a dentist all day after her visit!

Sneak Peak
We had Payter's 1st birthday party today and here is just a sneak peak of the theme...
I will give major props to B because though I baked the cakes and colored the icing he was the master builder and decorator of Minnie and I have to say that I am quite impressed (need I mention again that he is for hire). Happy 1st Birthday Payter!

Weekend Away
B and I got to go away for more than one night by ourselves for the first time since Pay was born! It was great. We went to visit Julie and Michael on "The Cape" and explored Boston. For some reason my camera is blurry (I'm thinking from the rain on Friday), but the pictures are still worth showing.
Walking around Boston made us want to brush up on our history because this town has so much history behind it. This is one place we ate...the oldest resturant in the country.
The first pub...
This was Granary Burial Grounds where victims of the Boston Massacre, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Paul Revere, and the parents of Ben Franklin are buried.

The science teacher in me though this was pretty neat (maybe a bit sad), but this guy died of "the smallpox" in 1778.
Outside Cheers - where everybody knows your name!
We were in the biggest sports paraphernalia store ever; take the UGA bookstore and double it. Those Rex Sox fans are awesome!
Outside Fenway Park. It is awesome, they take your ticket in the street and have the whole thing shut down in front of the stadium. There was a band, stilt walkers, great smelling food, and some very serious fans all in the streets. We decided if you combined the love of Georgia and Georgia Tech football for the state of Georgia you might get a small glimpse into the love the people in New England (not just Boston) have for the Red Sox - it's pretty amazing. The stinky part was that after four batters they stopped the game for rain and two hours later they finally called it off (but you better believe that almost all of the fans waited out those hours in hopes of seeing their beloved Sox play).
Just happened to be there on September 11th. It was a great experience because these people are some proud Americans.
The infamous Green Monster. Don't worry, it's only $1,000 to sit on top of the thing, maybe next year :)!
Now if this store does not scream Cape Cod, than nothing else does. It was way cool, they even had a bench for Republicans and another for Democrats!
Can you guess what bench the boys are on?
Julie and I were rebels and walked down to the Kennedy complex (not on the property, just down to it - don't get us arrested). The best part is when we were walking back two other cars stopped and asked us where it was - mind you we were all in our Georgia gear and they thought we knew what we were doing!
Don't we look like tourists outside the local ice cream shop!
Thanks so much Jules and Michael for such an awesome time we can't wait until next year!

Belated Birthday
Sometimes belated birthday presents are better than those on the actual day since you only have one to occupy your interest. Well, check out this mamma jamma gift from Grammy and Pop Pop.
Watch out Daddy, woman driver!
Pay loved it just about as much as her sister. Good thing there is seating for two.
On Pay news, she loves to practice her walking. Now Q even gets the reap the benefits of this new skill.
