72 miles

A couple weekends ago B and my dad did a bike ride for charity and it was the first time the girls and I have been able to see him at the "finish line".
Here are the kiddos working on their signs.
I say "finish line" because this was it.  Our gang and another family were the only people waiting at the end to cheer on the riders, even though there were over 1,000 bikes in ride.  The kids did a great job clapping and cheering for the people as they zoomed past.
After waiting for over an hour we almost missed them when they came by, hence my picture of B is super blurry.
And this is the only shot of Paps I got.
Here is B and his fans when he got done!

We are super proud of our B and can't wait to see him in another ride.

5

Want to know what a five year old looks like?  Well here's one today.
Today our Quinner turned 5 and I can hardly believe it.  There are times when I wish I could hit a pause button and keep her from growing, but then I get excited about what her future holds.  Here's what I love about her right now:  she is smart, athletic, silly, shy, a great big sister, has an incredible imagination, sensitive, observant, loves the outdoors, and most importantly has a heart for Jesus.  I am so thankful that the Lord decided to bless our family with her and am very lucky to be her mother.

Q's Birthday Party

Because Q and Harris have birthdays so close together that we decided to rent out a super fun local pool and invite a whole bunch of people to have a great time in the water.  It was a blast!
 Look at those smiles!
 Cannon ball.

They had two water slides that the kids (and adults) went down the entire evening.

 The birthday kids!
Happy Birthday CQL.

Growing

What started out as this on Memorial Day weekend...

Turned into this about 2 weeks later.

 Our first tomatoes!
And now looks like this less than 10 days later.

Things are really starting to take off.

Earlier in the week Q found these babies in the garden and chowed them down at dinner later that day.
Q loves the garden.  Yesterday I was making a spaghetti sauce and all I had to do was ask Q to go outside and pick me some basil an she ran to do the chore.  She has to check on it every day to see how much it has grown, her excitement has definitely spread though the house (well Payter still could care less, but she likes it when she devours some tomatoes).

Keaton Beach and Amelia Island Trip

About a week ago we had the chance to spend a long weekend with Grammy and Pop Pop at two different beaches.  We started out staying in the "hose on wheels" (as the girls call it) at Keaton Beach.  B, Sonny, and I got to go out Saturday morning for a fishing trip for speckled trout and other goodies.  B and Sonny were hot early on in the fishing, but even after 5 of my 7 catches were thrown back I still managed the biggest trout!  (I think it was 22 inches, but I can't remember).
The girls were amazed how our campsite was actually right on the water.
These little crabs were all over the shore when the tide when down.

 Lovin' the house on wheels.
Yeah, that's a big screen TV.  They won't  know what hit them when we make the sleep in a tent the next time!

 Chillin'
These poles were always topped with seagulls.
Our best attempt at a family picture.
Of course they will behave and smile for Grammy and Pop Pop.
 Watch out!
Sunday morning we headed out to Amelia Island where Pop Pop had to attend a conference.  The beach was beautiful.
Pay was hot and decided she needed to rest under the umbrella.

Boogie boarding (notice she's not in the water, they both would have much rather been in the swimming pool).

I love the beach and can't wait for another trip this summer, hopefully the rest of the clan will develop this love in the next few weeks.
