Growing up

Pay has been learning so much already this year in preschool.  She loves it when her teacher sends her "homework" home because she gets to be just like Q.  I know it is new and will one day be a fight, but she has been all about her work lately.
Liv is growing like a weed.  One of her faves is her play mat because she has finally mastered grabbing all of the goodies attached to it.
She also loves sleeping.  I couldn't resist sneaking this sweet shot.
Don't worry, Q has been keeping us all busy between school, softball, American Heritage Girls, and just being a little girl, I just didn't have any shots of those things yet.

We call him "Bubba"

"Bubba" is what the girls have always called Braden.  He started hanging out with us when he was 6 months old when his mamma was hard at work teaching kindergartners.  Most of you know back in April he was diagnosed with a very rare form of neuroblastoma.  Well, the time has come for him to get ready to have surgery.  He will be heading up to New York this weekend to start the process.  Surgery is scheduled for October 11th and your prayers are coveted more than you could ever imagine.  You can check out his blog, or the Pray for Braden Facebook page for updates.
About a week ago we were so pumped because we got him back for a day.  It was amazing to see how he just fits in with us.  It was like no time had passed since he was with "his girls".  To say a good time was had by all is an understatement.
This is how they would sit every morning when he would get to our house.  Chocolate milk and cartoons are the best way to start the day!
Livi even got to get into the action this visit.
As soon as Q got home from school playing way in full swing.
Q has always adored him.  Can you tell?
These two are two peas in a pod.  She is his Pay Pay and he is her Bubba.

It brings tears to my eyes to think about what these next several weeks will hold for this little boy.  Please lift him and his family up in your prayers; that's all they are asking for you to do. That's the only thing that we know will heal him.  Selfishly, we just want our Bubba healed so he can come back and play with us.

Labor Day 2012

It is our tradition to hang out in Macon for Labor Day.  The "chicks" have started laying eggs!

This year I opted out of our annual Labor Day Race, but someone even better decided she wanted to join B.  Q participated in her first 1 mile fun run.

I got to run with her.  She did great and clocked a 13:48 mile.  Not too shabby for her first race.

She even scored a medal and quick dry shirt.
Sweet P enjoyed herself some cotton candy as a reward for all of her cheering.
 The two racers.
Just to brag on B he ran his fastest race yet, he finished in just over 51 minutes and ran a 8:17 pace.  I am so proud of how far he has come in the past year.
Grammy and her girls!
Next year 4 out of the 5 of us might be running, you never know.

Preschool

Payton started preschool a few weeks ago and is LOVING it!  She is in a 4 year class and is learning so much already.
Here she is with her teacher Mrs. Boswell.  She taught Q when she  was 4.  Pay loves her so much and the feeling is mutual.
I am so proud of her and can't wait to see how much she grows and learns this year.

Playing in the park

We love having a park we can walk to.  We love meeting up with family to play on the playground.
Liv loved her first time in a swing.

Playing with two of their favorite ladies.

Cereal

Livi's first cereal eating experience was quite the family affair.  This was the first time she had ever sat in a highchair and worn an crazy bib.
 First taste...
 Success!
Both of the big girls had to get into the action.

 One happy family.

5 Months

Pause.  I say this every month, but I wish there was a pause button I could press and pause life right now.  5 months is awesome!  You smile all of the time.  Your face lights up when you catch eyes with anyone.  Your smile is so big that you have little dimples under your eyes.  Your sisters and daddy can always get a huge, gummy grin out of you.
Drool.  Everyone says you must be teething, but I just think you are a drooler.  You can wet a shirt in about 15 seconds.  It is sweetness coming out.
Thumb sucker.  You love your thumb.  Anytime you are tired or fussy it immediately finds your mouth,. It is kinda convenient because we don't have to worry about paci's with you.
You roll all of the time.  You don't quite know where you are going yet, but you can roll across the room in no time.
You are also working on sitting up.  You love the bumbo seat and can can sit for a few  minutes with the boppy pillow around you.  If we get you balanced correctly you can even sit for a few seconds all by yourself.
You are still a great sleeper.  You sleep for 12 hours at night and take one long nap during the day.  The only thing about naps is they often get interrupted by loud sisters and you don't want to miss a thing when they are around.
You are one happy baby.  Not to jinx you, but we have lucked out with you, baby #3.

Can you guess

What are some of the girls favorite things to do?
Cooking...

Liv's top three.  1) Sucking her thumb; 2) hanging with her daddy; 3) watching TV.  Not too shabby if you ask me.
And finally, the Olympics.  I have officially made my children Olympic junkies.  We watched it constantly for the 2 weeks it was on.  I am detoxing right now, but my oh my, what I wouldn't do for another fix of some swimming or gymnastics!
Can you tell which sport the girls most preferred?

If you can call rhythmic gymnastics a sport.  They loved because the girls looked "so beautiful".  Who would have ever thought we would have a house full of girly girls :)!
