Santa for free...

This year we saw Santa and didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for a picture... it was FREE! Yup Bass Pro Shop had a Santa and they printed you off a picture for free, no strings attached. B says it's their ploy to get women in the store to buy gifts for their husbands, probably true, but it got us there. He was a great Santa and after a little bribery, 2 candy canes, Q stood with him to get her picture taken, and of course P, the mellow child, just hung out on his lap. Q was so cute telling Santa that she likes cookies just like him and she was going to give his reindeer carrots. Bass Pro took a better picture than we did, but none the less here's what we got. Bribery in action!
Book time at our house is another favorite part of our day. P is even getting involved in the action. The sweetest this about it is that Q likes to "read" to P and P actually seams to listen. Good thing our two year old sleeps in a queen size bed!

Can you tell what one of our favorite books are!
Q has this book memorized and loves to read it to P.

Here are a couple other cute shots! This was a Christmas card reject, but still precious!
B's favorite part of the day. She's such a snuggley (sp?) baby.
The Lockhart girls!

Merry Christmas from Our Girls

Here is some quick video of our girls and Q wishing everyone Merry Christmas in her own special way. Her video is dark because when we put her to bed last night she obviously wasn't tired and was singing her favorite song... I bet you can't tell what it is :)!
Pause the music at the bottom so you can hear them in full audio!

What's going on...

Sorry for the lack of post, but like everyone else things are crazy around here and the blog lady (that's me) procrastinated on school work and as a result had a paper due today and a final due a week from today. The paper is done thanks to my sister taking Q for the morning, but the final has not yet been stated. Poor Britton asked me yesterday when he was going to get his wife back - he and Pay have been watching a lot of TV by themselves lately (yes, I know what studies say about infants watching TV, you don't have to remind me).

In other news, we had a good Thanksgiving spending time with family both here an in the M-Town. Here is a quick picture montage of our time!
This is how Q went to my parents to see family... yes she insists on wearing these too big, patten leather, charms everywhere she goes - DRAMA!
Pay loved the holidays because she was held the majority of the time...My Aunt Vera and Grandma are spoiling her here. She loves smiling... here she is with Grammy.Uncle B and Pay at their best!

Q's favorite part was spending time with her cousins...Two peas in a pod.Kallie was mad because we turned the jets on!Eating breakfast at Grammy's is so much fun! MC loves her new little cousin!

To wrap up this post here are a couple more shots of the girls. Oh, yeah, Pay went to the doctor this week and is already dwarfing here sister at two months... yep she weighed in at 9 lbs. 14 oz.! We are so proud of our big girl! (I know it's not big to many of you out there, but it's huge for our babies.)
Q is "helping" me write my paper... can you tell by the highlighter all over the studies I have been reading! This is how I found Q one afternoon, yup she is already trying to put on make up!Do you need anymore proof that the Lockhart girls are in love with the Daddy...

Excited

Can you tell I am gearing up for the Christmas season (the songs and new background)? I am so very excited about celebrating our Savior's birth this year. It's amazing to talk to Q about it and watch the wheels turn in her head as she tries to connect all of the decorations and hype with the true meaning of Christmas. What an amazing gift we can give our kids to instill in them the meaning and joy that goes along with this season!

Monster trucks and family pictures

I know I am late to post this, but the Lockhart's got a new addition to the family thanks to DeFoor Supply (B's job). When B told me that his new truck had a "lift" on it I thought it wouldn't be that big... well was I mistaken. Q calls it Daddy's Big Bad Monster Truck, I lovingly call it "Gravedigger". Heather calls it something else; click on her blog to see her post. Check it out.
I think my Grandma was the most impressed with his new wheels!
Before I move onto the family pictures here are two pics of the girls. Payton is very interactive now and loves watching her big sister. Q knows how to make her smile and it is so sweet.
And her's a picture for Daddy. All I can say is that's his girl!

Lastly, we had family pictures taken by the master photraghper, David Wilson, and they came out awesome! Here are just a few that we liked.

Don't worry, when Q saw my brother, she called him "Old McDonnald", we love you G!

New Video

Here is some video of the girls. If you watch it to the end you can see that Q really does like to sing, she's just a little shy in front of people. Enjoy!

Smiles

So our girls are all full of smiles these days. They are too cute.
P loves attention already...
This is how much she loved her candy cane... we are already gearing up for the holidays!

Q also had her first singing performance on Wednesday at Bible Study. I took video, but unfortunately no words came out of her mouth. She was the child with fingers either in her nose or mouth... great! What is crazy is how much she sings at home. Well, I guess there's always next time. Check it out.

They grow up so fast...

Let me first start off by sharing a huge praise with you all the Q is finally over her funk... actually is was "primary herpes simplex". I get cold sores and as a result exposed my daughter to the virus, since she had not antibodies in her system she broke out with sores all over the inside of her mouth, tongue, and gums. It also forced her body to work overtime and gave her a fever for 8 days and left her not wanting to eat due to pain for almost two weeks. Oh, what fun it was for us, but now that she has gotten the first infection, she will more than likely only have one blister during subsequent infections. So, if you or anyone you know gets cold sores, STAY AWAY from little kids so they don't have to deal with what Q did; honestly it sucks (sorry for the language Mom and Grammy).

P has been trying for a couple weeks to find her thumb and finally on Saturday (with a little help from Di Di) she got it. If there is no paci near you can hear her smacking her lips to get to her thumb.

Sunday was a bit emotional for B and I as we were getting ready to go to church. Q was all dressed up and wearing her backpack when B looked at her and said so sadly, "It looks like she is going to school". Now, I have never been one for homeschooling, but after the thought of having her leave us for school one day, I did get a bit emotional... I'll blame it on hormones, all B has is the fact he is wrapped around her little finger.

P is growing like a weed as well. She has found her voice and loves to hear herself talk. She is also awake more during the day and as long as she isn't pooping, she is all smiles! B and I looked at each other on Monday and could hardly believe that she is already 7 weeks old.

Finally, here is a shot at what happens when Q takes a bath. Now everyone can understand why Q want's B to give her a bath. The best is when they ambush me or shoot me as I walk past while vacuuming or with something in my hands. Yes, this is why I love my life!

Haircut

If you follow our blog, you know that B is into cutting our hair around here. It saves us money and he does a pretty good job at it. Yesterday he gave Q her second haircut ever, and it is really cute! It's crazy how fast her hair grows, he took off 2 -3 inches. She has a little bob, it is even cuter because of her blond hair. Here are the shots.Q felt it was important to have her own "lizards" while Daddy was cutting.
This is the best smile she can muster with her sore mouth.

Speaking of "best" this is not a great shot I know, but sometimes we are thankful for what we get in the picture department.

No Halloween...

Not because we are psycho and won't let our kid trick-or-treat, but because our sweet Q is pretty sick. She started with a super high fever on Wednesday and then on Friday she began developing sores inside her mouth (ouch). I think I was the most disappointed because she is a really cute Tinkerbell. We might have her diagnosis figured out, but if we are right her sores will last @ 10 days, which is a lot of pain and no eating for a two year old. So, part of this post is to ask ya'll to pray for her little body and quick healing of her fever and mouth. Don't worry, I got a picture of her tongue... ignore the boogies! A Tinkerbell and a Monkey!

Lovin' some Di Di and Paps time!
On another, happier note, P is smiling like crazy despite the fact she is pretty much quarantined and spends the vast majority of her day in her swing without being held. I know that we are blessed with a good baby, when she is still happy despite the lack of attention. Here is a pic of her big smile!

Jack-O-Lantern

Yup, I'm for hire, though it took me all evening and Q went to bed before I was done, I'm still impressed.

Pumpkin Time

We went to Grammy and Pop Pop's house this weekend and went pumpkin picking. Now, this is no Washington Farms, but we did get to take the kids on a hayride and got some good pictures - of the cousins at least, Q didn't really want to participate in the picture taking...see below.

Great babysitting technique! No not really, they did get into the kennel on their own accord.

On another note, P went to the doctor for her one month appointment and she already is dwarfing Q when she was her age... 8 lbs 6 oz, 21 5/8 inches! Yes, to some of you she is still smaller than your babies when they were born, but she is huge to us! Don't worry, Q who is almost 2 1/2 weighs in just under 24 lbs (23 lbs and 15 oz). Oh yea, P is also really smiling, so I will put a picture up of that soon (she usually gives her Daddy the best smiles - go figure).
