Models
From motorcycle to sneaker models, we are training them early. Pay loves sitting on Uncle D Jay's "bicycle", Q won't go near it - go figure.
I love bargains and found these awesome shoes at Nordstrom Rack for $12 - take that Target! The girls swear they make them run faster!
Q loves it because she and her Daddy now have the same type of running shoes.

Ist Day of School 2010
Q started 4 year old preschool this week and has loved every second of it. I knew she would because she has been talking about it ever since last year ended. Poor Pay constantly asks, "Where Sissy go?" Next year she will get her chance to go. This is going to be a great year!
Best buds on their first day. When I asked her who she played with that day at school all I heard about was Cole and Ty. At least I know where their mama's live :).

Our Church
is not traditional by any stretch of the imagination, but it is AWESOME at connecting people to Jesus and making Christianity relevant to all. This Sunday was as unique as we are... Tailgate Sunday. We have been right in the middle of a sermon series called Text in which we are studying excerpts from Proverbs. To tie in our tailgate theme with our scripture, "To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice." Proverbs 21:3. We talked about how important it is to take Christianity outside the four walls of the church and into your everyday life. It is not all about the "churchy sacrifices"(thought they are a portion of our faith), but about living the life. It is about your true colors, the colors you bleed -kinda like the colors of your favorite team. This is where the tailgate came in. It was the bomb! Nothing like combining your favorite food, favorite teams, church outside, and Jesus.

I have to say B's wings and chips were quite delicious!
Even the kiddos got into the action.
Our "tailgate communion". Ritz crackers and Grape Soda in what else, a red Solo cup.

I think this makes Jesus happy, to see his people all worshiping. It didn't matter what colors you had on the outside, but the colors on your heart - the red blood of the Lamb.
Even the kiddos got into the action.

What's going on..
This week has been very mellow. We have had a new addition to our house during the days, B, a six month old I have started watching. I was not sure how the girls would react, but to say they love him is an understatement.
As I expected Q is awesome with him and loves to make him laugh.
The big shocker is that Pay loves his just as much. Whenever she sees him she says, "Hey Buddy".
Cuteness
Oops, makes me realize that we have almost ZERO boy toys.

They have been playing lots of doctor.

And patient.

Dress up.

And simply hanging out.
Since we have had a little one around the house I have been making a conscience effort to spend individual, quality time with the girls. (Yes, it's sad that it has taken the addition of a child to make me realize that I need to do this.) Today Q and I had one of the best conversations we have had in a while. We were making banana bread while the other two were napping and this was how it went:
Q: Mom when I grow up to be a mom I am going to have two girls and one boy.
K: That sounds great, what will their names be?
Q: Sara, Grace, and Andrew.
K: I like those names.
Q: When they turn four I will teach them how to make banana bread and we will do it together.
K: I think they will like that.
Q: You can come too and help mom, you can be the grandmother.
K: I would really like that. That means that you will be happy and playing with your kids.
Q: Yes, I will be married and get to play with my kids and you can come whenever you want.
As I thought about our conversation it makes me very excited to know that not only is she having fun being a kid, but she is just as excited about what her future holds as I and for her.

M. Ed.
I normally don't like to blog about myself, but since I don't scrapbook I decided I should at least put pictures of my graduation up. I finally finished my masters in science education this summer and thanks to the help of B and my whole family I got it done in just shy of three years. I love school (which is a complete 180 from high school) and can't wait to go back for another degree some day.

After a grueling 3 hour ceremony we heated downtown to get some food. The girls loved it because they got gelato for dessert. Yummy

Now I need another reason to head up to Athens for some grub!

End of Soccer
Last week was Q's last soccer game and in good old team party fashion we all headed out to get some pizza and trophies.
The best Ass. Coach ever, B, got a picture and medal for his hard work.

Pay decided she liked Daddy's medal.
Q wanted me to take a picture of her ever growing trophy shelf. I am sad that she has decided to opt out of soccer for this fall and wants to go back to gymnastics. Well, I guess there's always Pay to sway towards soccer.
