Our Church

is not traditional by any stretch of the imagination, but it is AWESOME at connecting people to Jesus and making Christianity relevant to all. This Sunday was as unique as we are... Tailgate Sunday. We have been right in the middle of a sermon series called Text in which we are studying excerpts from Proverbs. To tie in our tailgate theme with our scripture, "To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice." Proverbs 21:3. We talked about how important it is to take Christianity outside the four walls of the church and into your everyday life. It is not all about the "churchy sacrifices"(thought they are a portion of our faith), but about living the life. It is about your true colors, the colors you bleed -kinda like the colors of your favorite team. This is where the tailgate came in. It was the bomb! Nothing like combining your favorite food, favorite teams, church outside, and Jesus.
I have to say B's wings and chips were quite delicious!
Even the kiddos got into the action.
Our "tailgate communion". Ritz crackers and Grape Soda in what else, a red Solo cup.
I think this makes Jesus happy, to see his people all worshiping. It didn't matter what colors you had on the outside, but the colors on your heart - the red blood of the Lamb.

what a neat idea. I have to say that is when I seen to share Jesus the least amount. It is when I am around people who I know are believers that it is easy to share. Wrong time I know. I really like this idea.
