So instead of going to the beach this year we took a quick four day trip to Hendersonville, NC over the 4th. Yup, you might be asking yourself, just where is Hendersonville and so were we; FYI it's about 15 miles south of Asheville, NC (you know where the Biltmore is). We didn't even make it to the Biltmore, but that was okay with us. Q had a blast being spoiled as she was the only child to six adults (B, myself, my parents, grandmother, and brother), like she really needs to be even more rotten. Here is a quick pictorial montage of our trip.

Q loved fishing with her Daddy. Her favorite part was playing with the live worms... that's my girl!
We went to a really cool park, Chimney Rock, where we rode an elevator to the top of a huge rock and took in some great views.

Q was not scared one bit of the height, she could not keep her eyes off the scenery.
Q, G and I on top of a big rock. She loves her G because he acts just like her!

This is how she spent the majority of her trip. Now this is definitely a symbiotic relationship becasue Q has to rub her Daddy's head in order to receive a free ride!

She even got to touch the waterfall. The hardest thing was her having to tell the waterfall goodbye. As you can tell they didn't send the pregnant lady out on the rocks with her.

Any questions why she loves him? She was screaming..."I got me a marlin".

The cabin we stayed in was on a lake... really an over sized duck pond, which Q loved. She was not afraid of the ducks and they were surly not afraid of us. On our last day there had to be about 40 ducks surrounding us for food... not joke.
All in all it was a great trip. I will have to share some video and a wonderful story from our eventful firework viewing experience, but that will come later when I get the video loaded. Hang on to your hats because its a riot!

did you get to go to the bakery in Hendersonville? they have great, fresh french bread, yum!
the pic of Q on B's back reminded me of my Daddy and me...my Daddy had a crew cut when I was itty bitty and my FAVORITE PLACE was sitting on his shoulders rubbing his hair as it was sticking straight up...felt like a soft brush and smelled like the wonderful butch wax that he put on it...uuuummmm, I can smell it now. Isn't it weird how much feel and smell impact your memories?
So glad ya'll had a wonderful visit together and good weather for the trip. CK is at Glisson this week, so I've been pulling up her pics off the website today. She so enjoys getting to go up there each year for retreat. Won't be long until yours will be able to go, too!
love to all
