Ink

We went to the children's museum today (Ink in Gainesville) and it was a blast. All of the kids loved it. Check out some of their fun.If we only had a dentist chair in our house maybe we wouldn't fight over teeth brushing time.Of course playing doctor Q's favorite part of the day. If it wasn't playing doctor to humans then we were in the vet area and being doctor to animals.Or being animals themselves.Payter wanted in.
Judge and witness...Jury...Our little firefighter!Obviously they get a lot of practice grocery shopping with their mommies, but it is way more fun when things are your size.
And no day is complete without a trip to the beauty parlor.Yes, that's a manikin head, but after Q had her way with it it looks kinda like a chia pet! After today I am seriously concidereing a family pass. The best part is we pass it every time we go to my grandmas - how perfect!

It seemed like a good idea...

Who would have thought letting Pay play with Q in the sandbox was such a bad idea? Well, I obviously thought it was a good one at the time, but then P decided she would rather eat, throw, and wear the sand than actually "play" with it. I guess all of the fore mentioned things are"playing" for a 10 month old. After about 30 minutes of this we headed straight to the tub. I guess P will have to wait until she gets a bit older before she gets to partake int his activity again!

This picture shows a small amount of the sand all over her. The best was when she would open her mouth her tongue was purple from the sand!

Wade in the water

We took the girls to Harbins Park Sunday for a run and to let them play in the awesome creek on the property. Now, I am pretty sure that the gates and large boulders were there to keep us out of the water, but they were not stopping us from having a good time. It was nastalgic for me as it remended me of not only camping as a child, but working as summer camp counselor and taking kids on creek hikes. I was telling B that back then I never worried about slippery rocks or what animals could be living in the water, but my how things change when you are a parent. I did try my best to made sure that Q was not afraid of the water and encouraged her to explore without fear, and I have to admit that she seamed to have just as much fun as I did back in the day. I wish we would have gotten better pictures because these don't do our good time justice.

American Idol take 2

Q loves to sing, as you will see from this video. I think pay might enjoy Q's singing more than anyone...check her out in the background.

Daddy's litle helper

Q and B have been working on the shop (or "the ark" as it has been referenced before) the past few Saturdays and I might add that Q is quite the helper. Now, don't get me wrong she does take breaks to play on the swing set and get licked by the dogs, but she provides B with lots of conversation, laughs and extra tiny hands. Today their project was to paint the shop. I wish I had a picture of her actually painting, but B let her have the whole back wall to herself. He said she painted her name all over it and I don't doubt it when I saw the amount paint she had on her arms. Check them out.
I left the Payter in the house during the photo session, look what I found when I went to go back inside!

Headbands

So cute!

Old Memories

My mom has these two rocking chairs that Mandy and I got for Christmas of 1984 at her house and now the grandkids love to rock on them. Payter discovered them today and Q gladly obliged me some pictures because she also loves to rock whenever she gets a chance. Q also enjoys one of my favorite things to do when I was a kid, playing in the rain. She hates thunder, but is all about playing in the water coming from the downspout. She thinks it's great to make wet foot prints all over and see if hers or Mommy's are bigger. So much fun!

Ridin' Dirty

Both of our kids love to be naked...huummm I hope that's not a sign of things to come. Here is one of Pay's new favorites! Now, it might be just us, but check out that back, looks like it is getting straighter to me. We go back in November so please continue to pray for her scoliosis to improve. Also, on another dirty note, she can officially pull herself up and look what were we found her tonight!

Sleep Over

I'm not sure you can call it an official sleep over if it's with your cousin, but for Q's sake it was the first sleep over with a friend at our house. Dinner, bike rides, bath, Popsicles, books, and bed...it all really went smoothly. I was not brave enough to let them sleep int the same room which probably made bed time much easier for me. The best part is they all slept until 8:00! Even Payter had fun!

Staone Mountain

I forgot just how much "southern" fun Stone Mountain really is. We got together with a bunch of friends yesterday to watch the laser show. B and I were discussing that it would go either one of two ways, either really good or complete meltdown, since the actual show doesn't start until 9:30. Well thank you Jesus that everyone had a great, sweaty, time. Q got to ride the train, Pay played on the blanket with her "buddies" and all of us got to see the show. Except they no longer play "I'm Proud to be an American" which really makes me mad. The show ended a little after 10 and after a wipes bath and change of clothes in the back of the monster truck they were spent (yes they are holding hands in their sleep). I can't wait to go back next year!

It's clear to me now...

why I give my children Popsicles in the bathtub (thanks Jamie for the sage advice).Pay also had a fun time with her spaghetti the other night. Can you tell she liked it?

The Beach

WARNING: There are lots of pictures, but all cute, maybe next time I'll do a slide show.
The entire Hutcheson clan got to go the Harbor Island, SC for our vacation this year and it was so much fun! The beach had like zero waves which was perfect for the kids. Pretty much our days consisted of beach in the morning, lunch, naps, pool, and dinner...with a little golf and exploring the area thrown in. The girls did great and loved it, I am already looking forward to next year.Best buds getting geared up for our first trip to the beach.Walking with Uncle Chad to the ocean. We looked like nomads. Check out Payter in the back...she loved it, especially riding over the bumps on the boardwalk to the beach.Swimming in a tidal pool. There were tons of hermit crabs, blue crabs, sand dollars, and other fun sea creatures for the kids to find on the beach. We even had hermit crab races one morning...mine were lazy and just crawled around in circles.Check out the sign! Yes, there really were alligators just on the other side of the fence.Who doesn't love a powdered doughnut?More snacking...Pool time! The LONG walk to the ocean, but she is prepared for a big wave:)!Building sandcastles, one of Daddy's favorite things. All of the grandkids with Di Di and Paps.Beautiful little girl. The fam.The whole family minus Greg...we will have to photoshop him in for the Christmas card!Just 5 of Grandmama's 29 great-grandkids...not to shabby G-ma!
P and Grandmama bonded a lot during this vacation, so cute!Need I say more.Where did Luke's legs go? Good job girls! Our tree huger!K and the Q.Di Di and her apprentice shell collector.
