I understand...

Tonight as I sat in Q's bed going over our Resurrection Eggs talking about Easter it became ubundantly clear as to why we race every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings to CBS, have her in church every Sunday, and put her in a Christian preschool. She truly has faith like a child. Her eyes got bigger and bigger as we talked about Jesus' death and resurrection. As we talked about how much Jesus loves her and the true meaning of Easter she spoke so matter of fact. When were discussing the last supper and the disciples she said that she wanted to be one of Jesus' disciples. She told me that Jesus saves us from darkness and that he gives us life. She was angered by how the soldiers treated her Jesus so cruelly and said that they were mean, bad men because her Jesus is good and loves everyone. To this she said that we should love everyone, even the bad men and pray for them to love Jesus. She called her dad into the room with excitement as she proceeded to tell him that Jesus is always with us and that he is in our hearts. He protects from thunder and lightning and always obeys. The three year old in her came out when she told us that he never gets in time out and always says "yes mama, I will do that".

What I would give to believe the gospel story with such abandon, without question. What I would give to hear the story of Easter with such naivety and blind trust. What I would give to experience my Jesus through the eyes of a three year old who loves him so much.

Thank you Charlotte Quinn for reminding me just how real my Jesus is and how much he loves us.

"And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3
